Where to go after Queens
If you've finished today's Queens and want more, here is a sensible path:
- Easy 8×8 is the same game, with stars. You should feel at home right away.
- Hard 8×8 asks you to look at how regions and lines overlap.
- Easy 10×10 introduces two stars per line, a real change in how you think.
- 14×14 is the long game, with three stars per line.
What changes with two stars
With one star per line, a star you place finishes its row, column and region at once, so each move clears a lot of the board. With two stars, a star only half-finishes each of them. You have to reason about how many stars a group of lines still needs, and which regions must supply them. Our strategy guide shows how.
Questions
Is Queens the same as Star Battle?
Queens on LinkedIn follows the rules of one-star Star Battle: one per row, column and region, and pieces can never touch. It uses crowns and coloured regions, and Star Battle uses stars and outlined regions.
If I like Queens, which puzzles should I try?
Start with our 8×8 Intermediate level, which is the same format. Then move to 10×10 with two stars, where counting across lines becomes the main skill.
Can I play more than one puzzle a day?
Yes. Next to the daily puzzle, our library is free to play at any time, across four grid sizes and three difficulties.
Star Battle Daily is an independent site and is not affiliated with or endorsed by LinkedIn. "Queens" is used here only to describe the puzzle format.
